EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
The Armenian Genocide was a tragic event that took place over 100 years ago during World War I and its aftermath. At that time, the Ottoman Empire, which was the ruling government, targeted the Armenian people. They forced Armenians to leave their homes and endure dangerous, difficult journeys. Many suffered from violence, starvation, and harsh conditions, leading to the loss of approximately 1.5 million lives.

Despite these overwhelming hardships, there are inspiring stories of hope and resilience. The Armenian people showed incredible courage by supporting each other and finding ways to survive. Families tried hard to stay together, and communities came together to help those in need. Some individuals even risked their own safety to protect others, demonstrating that even in the darkest times, the human spirit can shine brightly.

Understanding the Armenian Genocide is important because it helps us appreciate the significance of standing up against injustice and treating everyone with respect and dignity. By learning about this period, we can recognize the strength and perseverance of the Armenian people and be reminded that hope and kindness can prevail even in the most challenging circumstances.
